nice new 96in" , but i have had tons of trouble getting parts for them. hd in ca. have stopped selling non smog parts for them. K&N makes a air cleaner for them and power commender has just put out a new ECM, amd i was able to find olny a few pipes. thanks Ca., do you all know that a pumped up harley still put out less shit then a smogged car, and get better gas mileage . but here is what kills me, all of the harley dealerships have pulled there highout put shit, and they will not do 95in. kits any more, but HD just put out a 96in'er..............................................huh think about it.

A buddy has had his 2007 StreetGlide for a few months now. It's not bad. My only concerns about buying an 07 are the smog BS thats comin down the pike.. I'm not so sure I wanna deal with all that crap. I did see someone the other day with another 07 Streetglide that had what looked like a Vance & Hines Propipe on it. There was also the 02 sensor on the back of the pipe....thought it was strang looking but at least it shows aftermarket companies are being proactive. Note: I have a Propipe on my '02 Roadking and really like it (except for the damned "golding" under the bag- which seems to be common on all baggers with these pipes).
Back to the '07 bikes...Seems there's a lot of pissed off people who bough '06 bikes and didn't get the benefit of the 6 speed tranny or the 96 inch motor and feel they got screwed. I guess thats just the way things go?

get this a 07 power commander has, ways to bye pass the sensors. and you can put any pipe that you want. and as people feeling bad, when i worked at HD in 05 the people that bought the 04's where pissed off about new sound systems.
PS why do you think they do not release any details about the new bikes. not even to the people that pay millons to be a hd owner............did i sat store owner. -

Tue, December 5, 2006 - 11:23 AMThats good to know about the Power Commander. I think there's going to be more of an issue though than just putting on any pipe...in regards to the EPA. If they do infact go to the annual or bi-annual "smog checking" your bike.... I feel people with have to keep changing their pipes back to the originals and then do a reset on the power commander to pass the damned test..then go home and put their aftermarket pipes back on and re-download the map set up for their bike. It's gunna be a pain in the ass...but I'm sure it will be done.
Interestingly enough...my friend bought his 07 Streetglide and still cannot get any info from the MOCO on the bike..like a full manual etc.

Tue, December 5, 2006 - 7:21 PMthe clean air act has been around since the 80's, so i think that the EPA is going to have to put a date on the bikes there going to check. i think it will be some thing like in 08 or 09 we will see that. becouse look at it this way there are still no smog check points, and there is no one even bidding on it or talking for the EPA.. and you know it will talk at 2 or 3 yr.'s just to get that under way. i do not think a visual inspection will do any good becouse i can hide a power commander any where, or drill out a stock air cleaner, or even make stock pips in to headder. there is tons of tricks. -

Hiding a power commander?? You can't see mine anywhere on the bike :) I'm sure you got tons of tricks up your sleeve though Rodger....sign of a t "True Wrench"!! :) -
